Globe Cargo Virtual Airlines was founded in May 2004 as Virtual Atlas Air, to fill the need for realistic aircraft and airline operations. It was formed by Ralph L. Tofflemire, creator of the Ready For Pushback 747 “Classic”.
In the early days Atlas Air was the airline we emulated, but before long Globe Cargo's operations were aligned with a different real-world counterpart. Polar Air Cargo became our primary simulated airline, and Atlas Air became our charter division. Later the PMDG 747-400F joined the fleet, because the realism it offered fit naturally alongside the RFP fleet.
From the start, Globe Cargo has focused on realism, automation and quality rather than the size of our pilot roster. That focus continues today.
GCVA is now in its 23rd year of operation. Our roster continues to grow while keeping an active membership, and new management positions have been added to support new features and projects. The management team remains dedicated to the virtual airline's core values and to outstanding service.
Today our pilots fly with:
Globe Cargo will continue to expand and improve. Realism will keep increasing, and stay optional, so we can welcome a wider range of virtual pilots.
Crew training is at the leading edge of this. Training is one of the most important parts of an airline pilot's career, and ours will include aircraft systems training similar to that of a real-world airline pilot. There is virtually no limit to what can be learned about aviation and flying a transport category aircraft. As the saying goes, a good pilot is always learning.
We are always open to suggestions on any part of the virtual airline, from website features to policies. If you have an idea, please write to us. The management team works hard for your enjoyment of flight simulation, and we are always interested in ways to make the airline better.

Realistic cargo operations, a friendly crew, and 22 years of experience behind every flight.
